What is a peptide?

A peptide is a short chain of amino acids. That's the whole definition. A handful of tiny building blocks linked together in a line.

You already know a longer example — a protein is a long chain of the same blocks. Think of amino acids as letters, a peptide as a short word, and a protein as a whole paragraph.
