What it is

Eloralintide is a lab-engineered version of amylin, the hormone your pancreas releases at a meal to tell your brain you are done eating. It is a 37-amino-acid peptide built to last much longer than the natural version. One strong 48-week trial showed about 20% average weight loss, the largest number published for any amylin analog.

How it works

It signals fullness through the area postrema in the brainstem, a pathway completely separate from GLP-1 and GIP. By strengthening the body's sense of being full, it drives weight loss without touching the incretin axis that most other weight drugs use.
