What it is
GHRP-2 is a synthetic six-amino-acid peptide that imitates ghrelin, the 'hunger hormone,' and triggers the pituitary to release growth hormone in pulses. It was developed in the early 1990s and even became a clinical diagnostic tool to test for growth-hormone deficiency.
How it works
It binds a receptor called GHSR in the pituitary and brain, which signals the release of a pulse of growth hormone. The same receptor activation also raises cortisol, prolactin, and appetite. That is one receptor doing several jobs, and you get all of them whether you want them or not.
