What it is
Ipamorelin is a synthetic five-amino-acid peptide that activates the ghrelin receptor and, notably, almost nothing else. Built by Novo Nordisk in the late 1990s, it never reached market as a drug but became the workhorse of peptide-clinic growth-hormone protocols.
How it works
It tickles the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) on the pituitary, which triggers a pulse of growth hormone. Its hallmark is selectivity: at 200 times the effective dose it barely moves cortisol, prolactin, or other hormones that older releasers disrupted. That clean profile is the entire appeal.
