What it is

NAD+ is not a peptide at all. It is a coenzyme, a helper molecule found in every cell, discovered over a century ago. It is central to the reactions that produce your body's energy currency, ATP, and it feeds repair enzymes that tend damaged DNA and support longevity-related pathways. Its levels naturally drop about 50% between young adulthood and old age.

How it works

Picture NAD+ as the battery that cells drain to make energy and to run their repair machinery. When it runs low, energy and repair slow down. Supplementation aims to top the battery back up. The body mostly takes in precursor molecules that get converted into NAD+, which is why clinics and bottles focus on those precursors.

Watch for

Raising blood NAD+ is proven. Everything after that is uncertain. No human study has shown lifespan or healthspan extension, and the IV format specifically, which costs hundreds per session, has almost no controlled trial support. One 2026 comparison even found IV NAD+ triggered an inflammatory white-blood-cell response that the oral precursor did not.

Notes

NAD+ biology is real and better documented than most longevity compounds. Still, the strongest evidence comes from cheap oral pills, not the expensive drip that dominates the market.

BPC-157 is a short chain of 15 amino acids. It is not a natural hormone your body makes on its own. It was built in a lab as a fragment of a larger 'body protection compound' first found in human stomach juice in the 1990s. Vendors sell this engineered piece, not a natural sequence.

How it works (optional detail)

In animal studies, BPC-157 seems to nudge faster blood-vessel growth at injured spots, which is the body's first step in healing. It also appears to quiet inflammation. The idea is that by tickling repair pathways rather than ordering one single thing, it helps tendons, ligaments, and gut lining recover speedier than they would on their own.

Dosing reference: Common community dosing is a few hundred micrograms a day, usually injected near the site or into belly fat. There is no approved human dose.
