What it is
Selank is a synthetic seven-amino-acid peptide built from tuftsin, a natural immune peptide, plus the same stability tail Semax uses. Approved in Russia for generalized anxiety and neurasthenia in 2009, it is an intranasal spray. Most Western clinicians have never heard of it.
How it works
Instead of binding the anxiety receptor directly, it modulates the calming GABA system allosterically — a gentler lever that may explain why tolerance and dependence look different from classic anti-anxiety drugs. It also touches serotonin, dopamine, and BDNF.
