What it is
Thymosin alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid peptide your thymus gland, the training ground for immune cells, naturally produces. It was identified in 1977 and became a real drug, called Zadaxin, approved in dozens of countries as an add-on treatment for chronic hepatitis B.
How it works
It is an immunomodulator, meaning it tunes the immune system rather than simply revving it up. It encourages the maturation of T-cells, the special forces of your immune response, and supports the activity of dendritic cells that present threats to the troops. Its half-life is short, around two hours.
